High Power Benchrest Group Shooting Rules
1. Small Caliber Centerfire – .224 cal up to and including 6mm (.243 cal)
2. Large Caliber Centerfire – 25 cal (.257) up to and including 40 cal
3. 22 Rimfire – 22 LR only
IBS 100 yd and 200 yd Benchrest GroupTarget.
Each target has 1 record bull and 1 sighter bull.
Targets may not be modified from original format by competitor
Courses of Fire:
Centerfire Class will fire two “5-shot” groups at 100 yds and two “5-shot groups at 200 yds.
22 Rimfire Class will fire two “5-shot” groups at 100 yds only
One 5-shot group per record bull
Unlimited sighters allowed on sighter bull
The winner of the 100 yd group aggregate for each class will be the 100 Yard Champion and the
winner of the 200 yard group aggregate for each class will be the 200 Yard Champion.
The Grand Aggregate Class winner will be the average group size for 100 yd and 200 yd.
Shooters will be allocated 20 minutes for any sighting rounds and the firing of (2) 5-shot groups per Class and distance.
Any rifle, any weight, and any sights with a safe trigger is allowed
Wind flags can be set before the first match and not moved after start.
Rifles shall be fired from benches, single load only, on non-conforming pliable sandbags, both front and rear. Adjustable pedestals with sandbag under the forearm of the rifle are permitted. Blocks, boxes, or such devices to achieve proper elevation are permitted.
Any machine rests or any rest that can return to battery or which retards recoil will not be allowed.
OPEN ACTIONS: All bolts shall be removed from the action until the command “Place Bolts in Rifles” is given.
FIRING: No shots shall be fired until the command “COMMENCE FIRING” has been given and no shot shall be fired after the command “CEASE FIRING” has begun.
After the “CEASE FIRING” command, all bolts must be removed and chamber flags inserted.
