High Power Benchrest Score Match

High Power Benchrest Score Shooting Rules

 

Rifle Classes:

  1. Varmint for Score  – Any centerfire caliber allowed (.224 cal and larger)
  2. 22 Rimfire – 22 LR only

 

Targets:

IBS 100 yd and 200 yd Hunter Rifle Target.  

Each target has 5 record bulls and 1 sighter bull.

Targets may not be modified from original format by competitor

 

Courses of Fire:

Varmint for Score will fire four (4) “5-shot” matches at 100 yds and four (4) “5-shot matches at 200 yds.

Two (2) relays per shooter at each distance. (10 record shots per relay) Total 40 rounds for record

 

22 Rimfire will fire (4) “5-shot matches at 100 yds only. Two (2) relays. Total 20 rounds for record

 

One record shot per record bull

 

Unlimited sighters allowed on sighter bull

 

The winner of the 100 yd aggregate will be the 100 Yard Champion and the

winner of the 200 yard aggregate will be the 200 Yard Champion.

 

The Grand Aggregate Class winner will the combined score of 100 yd and 200 yd.

 

Time Limit:

Shooters will be allocated 20 minutes per relay for any sighting rounds and 10 scoring rounds per relay  

 

Rules:

Any rifle, any weight, and any sights with a safe trigger is allowed. No rail guns allowed.

 

Wind flags can be set before the first match and not moved after start.

 

Rifles shall be fired from benches, single load only, on non-conforming pliable sandbags, both front and rear.  Adjustable pedestals with sandbag under the forearm of the rifle are permitted.  Blocks, boxes, or such devices to achieve proper elevation are permitted.  

Any machine rests or any rest that can return to battery or which retards recoil will not be allowed.

 

Safety:

OPEN ACTIONS: All bolts shall be removed from the action until the command “Place Bolts in Rifles” is given.

 

FIRING: No shots shall be fired until the command “COMMENCE FIRING”  has been given and no shot shall be fired after the command “CEASE FIRING” has begun.

After the “CEASE FIRING” command, all bolts must be removed and chamber flags inserted.
