Equipment for action pistol:
– 1 centerfire handgun or rifle chambered in a pistol cartridge, at least 9x19mm
– at least three magazines, five or more is better but not required
– sturdy belt
– safe holster that prevents access to the trigger guard attached to the shooter’s belt
– at least two magazine pouches attached to the shooter’s belt
– eye and ear protection
Shooters *must* be competent with drawing from a holster safely. For shooters that have questions or that have never attended an action pistol match of any kind, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
to coordinate a safety briefing the morning of the match.
Action pistol matches are not sanctioned USPSA, but unless otherwise indicated on the calendar will use the most current USPSA rules and scoring system.
Ammo budget: 100-150 rounds, reccomend bringing 200 for comstock stages
Set up will start at 9, shoot at 10
Regarding weather: if above 40*F and the bays are mostly clear of snow/ice, will shoot regardless of rain/cloudy weather. If unsafely cold, under winds >20mph, or extreme weather watch/warning, or if the bays are snow/ice covered, will most likely cancel for that match.
Shooters will want to bring water, maybe something to snack on, gloves for setup help, clothing appropriate for the weather. Shooters *may* want to bring spare parts/cleaning supplies/tools in case of an equipment failure.
